1999: Fairy Queen rolls out once again in
all its past grandeur
The Fairy Queen is the oldest working Broad Gauge Steam Locomotive in the
world and was built in the year 1855 by the British firm Kitson Thompson and
Hewitson for the British firm East India Railways. The train has 50 seats, chair
car (non air conditioned) and a Pantry car for onboard catering. The Guinness
Book of records has also recognized the Fairy Queen as being the worlds
oldest locomotive of this millenium which is still running. The itinerary of the
