  • Fatehpur Sikri about 27 kms off. Enjoy a real outing, splendid isolation and lonely grandeur if you like, at Fatehpur-Sikri the ceremonious capital built by Akbar but abandoned later on for lack of water.

Day 1 Agra

Arrive Agra and check into the hotel. Lunch at Hotel. Start the day by visiting Taj Mahal - One of the Seven Wonders of the World. Built by Shahjahan in sweet memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. Then proceed for the sightseeing of Agra city by visiting the Agra Fort - Built by the great Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D., the fort is a masterpiece of design and construction. Within the fort are a number of exquisite buildings, including the Moti Masjid, Diwane-i-Am, Diwane-i-Khas and Musamman Burj, where the Emperor Shah Jahan died in imprisonment. In evening visit the local markets for shopping. Overnight stay at Agra hotel.

Day 2 Fatehpur Sikari/ Mathura

Morning check out from hotel and visit Fatehpur Sikri (37 Kms from Agra) This sprawling structure is made of red sandstone and combines both Hindu and Mughal architecture. This walled city contains the mausoleum of the Sufi Fakir, Saleem Chisti who is said to have granted Akbar and his Hindu queen Jodhabai their wish for a son. The main entrance to Fatehpur Sikri is through the 175 feet Buland Darwaza, the highest gateway in the world. Lunch at local restaurant. Move on for your onward journey to Mathura - birthplace of the world's popular deity, Lord Krishna. The land is replete with imposing temples, each dedicated to the stage's of the lord's life and visit the famous Krishnajanmabhumi Mandir. Overnight at Mathura Hotel Radha Park/similar.
