With its rolling greens hills and paddy fields, lakes and waterfalls, having
palm groves and sun-kissed beaches, Goa can claim to be one of the important

monuments and historical sites are an archaeologist's delight. St. Francis
Xavier visited it in 1542 and his remains are enshrined in the Basilica of Born
Jesus in Old Goa.

Goa

Take a morning flight (1 hour )from Mumbai and arrive Goa to see and explore the city of churches and of course the exotic sandy beaches. Start the day with a visit to Chapel of St. Catherine which was built in 1552. Next halt at Church of St. Francis Xavier . the church is built of laterite plastered with lime mortar, with tiled roof supported by wooden rafters. Also see Basilica of Bom Jesus. This is a world renowned church ,contains the body of St. Francis Xavier. Inside the basilica you will see a beautiful display of architectural pieces of wood, stone, gold and granite. |

Goa

Today we tour the beaches of Goa. We start with Candolim Beach which is a long straight beach . The beach has facility for water sport activities like parasailing and water skiing. Lunch at Local Restaurant. Next proceed to Calangute beach which is popularly known as Queen of all Goan beaches. Calangute beach covers several sub beaches including Baga and Anjuna beaches. There is an interesting Tibetan market near Anjuna Beach where one can enjoy shopping silver jewellery and other unique handicrafts and souvenirs.. One attraction of the Anjuna beach is the Wednesday Flea Market where one can buy anything from jewllery, bikes to second hand goods. |

Goa

Start the day with a visit to Aguada Fort, the largest and the best preserved Portuguese bastion in Goa. An interesting feature in the precinct of the fort is a 13 meter high circular lighthouse built in 1864 which was initially used as an oil lamp. Also see the Archaeological Museum and Portrait Gallery. The collection of the museums are displayed in 8 galleries. These include portraits and sculptures from the pre historic to the late medieval periods. Lunch at local restaurant. Evening enjoy a cruise on the Mandovi river with Goan food, Goan dance and the very famous Goan wine. |
