This special tourist train is jointly operated by Indian Railways
and Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation.
The journey of 6 to 7 nights
on this luxurious modern train includes unforgettable visits to the
palaces, forts, deserts and lakes of Rajasthan. The itinerary includes
visits to Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Sawaimadhopur, Ranthambor, Jodhpur,
Jaisalmer, Girnar bird national park, Bharatpur, Fatehpur Sikri and the
Taj Mahal in Agra.
As most of the travelling is done at night,
your days are left free - for discovering the delights of Rajasthan.

On board the Palace |
Day 1 - Delhi
You begin your royal journey in Delhi, the city of ruined forts and rising
towers. From Delhi Cantonment, the Palace-On-Wheels is outward bound every
Wednesday night for Rajasthan - the land of Maharajas.
Day 2 - Jaipur
The Pink City greets you next dawn. Visit the Amber Palace, the Hawa Mahal and
the Nahargarh Fort. Lunch at Rambagh Palace Hotel and shop for Jaipuri jewellery
and fabric.

Day 3 - Chittaurgarh
Day 3 dawns in the land of fierce warriors, Chittaurgarh, once the capital of
Mewar. The Chittaurgarh Fort, the Victory Tower, all tell tales of Rajput valour.
Udaipur
Feel the magic of Udaipur, the city of lakes. Have lunch at the beautiful Lake
Palace Hotel and visit the magnificent City Palace.
Day 4 - Sawai Madhopur
Day 4 takes you to this tranquil retreat - Sawai Madhopur. Visit the sprawling
10th century fort of Ranthambore and the famous Ranthambore National Park.

Day 5 - Jaisalmer
On day 5, touch the golden sands of Jaisalmer. Witness the ancient
splendour of the sandstone Jaisalmer fort. Dine under the stars, as Rajasthani
melodies drift into the night.
Day 6 - Jodhpur
Jodhpur, the second largest city in Rajasthan, salutes you on Day 6.
Perched on a teep hill is the majestic Mehrangarh Fort. Jaswant Thada, the royal
cenotaph is close by. Enjoy a royal gourmet meal at the splendid Umaid Bhawan
Palace.

Day 7 - Bharatpur
Bharatpur beckons you on Day 7 with the awe-inspiring sight of water
birds. This is the renowned Keoladeo Ghana National Park. |
Enroute to Agra, the Palace-On-Wheels takes you
to Fatehpur Sikri, Emperor Akbar's splendid city with its beautiful palaces -
all built in red sandstone.
Agra
After lunch at the Taj View Hotel, have a glimpse of the Taj Mahal, the immortal
symbol of mortal love. Witness living history within the walls of the Agra Fort.
Day 8 - Delhi
On Day 8, while you breakfast on the Palace-on-Wheels, Delhi is fast
approaching. Yes, your royal odyssey is over and you bid adieu to your dream
holiday with exotic souvenirs and enchanting memories.
